Blood Drive Donor Ambassador: Genesee County
Help us keep blood drives running smoothly and prevent a blood shortage!
Blood Drive Donor Ambassadors provide excellent and enthusiastic customer service and enhance the donor experience. Each blood donor deserves to be treated as an honored guest! Engage with donors to make the donation experience fulfilling and set the stage for a long-term commitment to regular blood donations.
*This position is needed for blood drives all over Genesee and Orleans Counties!*
***Safety First! Our need for volunteers is constant and our guidelines reflect the latest CDC safety recommendations and follow the national and local government laws. Effective April 1, except for those in attendance at blood drives and congregate shelters, masks will become optional for fully vaccinated volunteers and employees and those who interact with our mission across the country.
Qualifications:
- Background check
- Must be at least 16 (with parental permission provided for ages 16-17)
- Online and in-person training (provided by the American Red Cross for free)
- Willing and able to volunteer in-person at area blood drives
- Basic computer navigation skills

If you’d like to browse other volunteer opportunities with the American Red Cross, follow these steps:
- Click the following link: www.redcross.org/volunteer
- Scroll down until you see the red button marked “Find My Volunteer Opportunity”
- From this screen you can choose to “Search by Keyword or Title,” “Take a Short Quiz to Find Your Perfect Role,” or “Browse Volunteer Positions”
- After browsing a few position descriptions, select “Apply Now” for the position you are interested in. This will redirect you to our “Single Sign On” page, where you will be asked to create your username (your email address) and password under the “Create a Red Cross ID” section.
- Once your account is created, you can complete the remaining volunteer application steps. The system will lead you through these steps: “Read and Agree to Red Cross Policies,” “Upload Photo ID,” “Submit Your Background Check,” etc.
