Josie's Place for Bereaved Famiies Volunteer Facilitator

A volunteer facilitator at Josie's Place works as part of a team, supervised by a staff member, to facilitate open-ended peer-to-peer grief support groups. We offer groups for children, teens, young adults, and their surviving parent or other primary caregiver. We offer both online and in-person groups, and our current greatest need is for our in-person groups. The ideal candidate has experience working with children and teens and has had a personal loss of their own or has an interest in this field. This is a great opportunity for Associate MFTs and Associate LCSW's to earn child hours towards licensing. Lay people are welcome as well --a clinical background is not required. We would like to diversify our team -- men and persons of color are encouraged to apply.

Our in-person groups meet in the inner Sunset district in San Franicsco. Volunteers commit to 4 hours from 5-9PM 2 nights a month. The commitment for our online groups is 2 hours a night 2x a month. We ask for a commitment of a minimum of one year, though longer is preferred.
