Volunteer Position: CRM & Email Campaign Coder

About Us

Free to Run’s mission is to drive change in community gender norms in conflict areas by supporting adolescent girls and young women to develop their leadership and wellness through running. We are a registered nongovernmental organization operating community-led programs for migrants and ethnic minority populations in Iraq & Afghanistan. We deliver long-term, youth-led, progressive running, leadership, rights and health programs directly to individuals (ages 10-24) to build assets and social access. The longer term impact of our work is building enduring social change - decreasing barriers to public participation, increasing women in leadership and making power structures more equitable and inclusive. In 2023, the organization is positioned for significant growth, in terms of our strategy, reach, impact and operating budget. 

Assistance Needed

Free to Run recently transitioned its database, fundraising, and CRM capabilities to EveryAction, a software company specializing in the Non-Profit space. We are seeking a volunteer with significant CRM Campaign knowledge to help design and code campaigns, build out emails for donor journeys, and generally optimize our capabilities on the platform. By working alongside the Fundraising and Communications teams, many of whom are also volunteers, we are looking for another team member to help to utilize the EveryAction platform to its fullest capabilities and drive engagement amongst the Free to Run community.

Tasks

• Become an expert EveryAction user for Targeted Emails and Online Actions.
• With guidance from the communications team, build out monthly newsletter, campaigns, and triggered emails.
• Execute on pre-designed user journeys for donor onboarding, donation acknowledgements, peer-to-peer fundraisers, and other triggered based campaigns.
• Maintain the newsletter sign-up & other new contact engagement lists.
• Work with the Fundraising team on any needs for building Peer-to-Peer fundraising pages and maintaining the donation flow on the website. 
• Assist with edits and updates on Squarespace managed charity website.

Location 

Our organization has a global network of volunteers based in many time zones. We are open to volunteers based anywhere.

Working Hours

This is a volunteer position; we appreciate any amount of time that can be given to our projects. Ideally the successful candidate, once onboarded and trained, will be available for 2-3 hours of work per week. 

Experience/ Competencies

• Experience with EveryAction is highly desirable. In lieu of EA, demonstration of experience with other CRM systems required.
• Comfortable with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. 
• Knowledge of Squarespace or similar.
• Independent, self-learner. Ready to build their skills.
• Keen attention to detail; ability to proofreading campaigns and manage user-generated lists.
• Experience in the nonprofit sector and/or fundraising is desirable but not required.
• Passion for gender equality and empowerment through sport.

Language: English (full written fluency), other languages appreciated.
