About Us:

The Peace Economy Project (PEP) is dedicated to promoting peace and economic justice through research, advocacy, and community engagement. We are launching a podcast to further our mission by exploring topics related to peace, social justice, and economic transformation.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Volunteer Transcriptionist to join our team. The Transcriptionist will be responsible for transcribing podcast episodes and other audio content, ensuring accuracy and clarity. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong listening and typing skills to contribute to a meaningful cause.

Key Responsibilities:

• Transcription: Accurately transcribe podcast episodes, interviews, and other audio content into written format.

• Editing and Proofreading: Edit and proofread transcriptions to ensure clarity, proper grammar, and correct punctuation.

• Formatting: Format transcriptions according to the organization’s guidelines, ensuring consistency and readability.

• Timely Delivery: Complete transcriptions within set deadlines and manage multiple transcription tasks as needed.

• Collaboration: Work closely with the podcast producer and other team members to ensure transcriptions meet the required standards.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Previous transcription experience is preferred but not required.

• Typing Skills: Strong typing skills with a high degree of accuracy and speed.

• Listening Skills: Excellent listening skills to accurately capture spoken words, including different accents and dialects.

• Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to producing error-free transcriptions.

• Time Management: Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.

• Communication: Good written and verbal communication skills.

• Passion for the Mission: A strong interest in social justice, peace, and economic issues.
