Are you interested in helping a new middle school with making a significant difference in creating financial and economic awareness and incorporating Day Trading and Tech Certification Skills for middle school children?
Legacy Microschool exists to close the skills, abilities, resource, and wealth gap for DFW middle school students in Finance and Tech (which involves Coding/Cybersecurity, Day Trading and Entrepreneurship), create upward mobility, and promote workplace diversity.
Our middle school consists of an intimate cohort of 12–15 students with a tailored curriculum in a hybrid in-person and online environment. Programming includes: hands-on real-world projects, portfolio making, speaker workshops, 1:1 mentorship, networking events, industry events,
job interview coaching, company visits, and internship/job matching opportunities.
As a Volunteer Development Director, you will:
Develop and execute annual fundraising plan and budget
Secure financial support from individuals, foundations, and corporations
Research and apply to grant opportunities
Plan and execute fundraising events
Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with donors
Define metrics and creates methods for tracking progress of fundraising activities
Build and mentor a team of volunteers to help with fundraising efforts
Prepare the Director and others to effectively cultivate, solicit, and close gifts from individuals, foundations, and corporations
Work with Marketing to create donor and donor prospect communications including subscriber newsletter, annual report, and marketing collateral materials
Keep Director and the Board informed and involved so they can support fundraising objectives
Requirements:
Strong interest in and commitment to equal opportunities for underserved (first-generation, low-income, minority and particularly Black and Latinx) middle school students and their advancement in finance and tech)
Have lived in the DFW area as it’s our primary service region (Preferred not mandatory)
Experience working with extremely small nonprofits (Preferred not mandatory)
Knowledge and ability to develop fundraising programs and events that drive positive donor and community relations
Possess ability to develop and implement recommendations and plans to achieve organization, donor, and partnership goals
Project management and execution skills
Plan to commit 5 or more hours a week on a flexible schedule that works for you
