Power to BIPOC Youth, a youth-led NGO that aims to amplify the voices of young BIPOC to educate and inspire others, is looking for a writer of color to create content for our website. Keep in mind this position is completely remote and an independent job.
Each week or every other week (you're free to choose), you'll be responsible for creating one piece revolving a certain topic/issue that affects a various community/communities of color. Just before our webmaster uploads it to the website, one of our editors will delete any spelling and/or grammatical errors in your piece.
We are looking for individuals with stellar writing skills but also consistency, dedication, and creativity. Creating content will require research and citing sources, but it also may include reaching out and interviewing other individuals in order to capture their experiences regarding the topic/issue you are writing about. Or, it may include adding your very own personal experience in your writing.
Essentially, you are free to express your perspective or support about the topic/issue however you'd like as long as it stands with our core mission and values as an organization. Ultimately, we strive to give young BIPOC a platform to speak on important matters, especially considering how rare this opportunity may be to many youngsters across the globe.
