Board President for a BIPOC Photo Nonprofit

Free Juice is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization accelerating diversity in the photography industry through mentorship; headquartered in Houston. Our mentorship program is primarily remote and networking events will serve BIPOC students and photo enthusiasts in Houston, New York, Atlanta, and Los Angeles.

Our Board of Directors is looking for a President. To satisfy the organization's expectations, the President collaborates closely with the founder, board, and project manager. The President will advocate for the board's integrity and will set the agenda for board meetings as well as preside over them. Under the direction of the board, the President develops financial strategies for the nonprofit organization, recruits interns as needed, and onboards volunteers. Making sure the fundraising matches current demands is a primary focus. He or she will be sharp, meticulous, and knowledgeable. Although previous nonprofit experience is preferred, it is not required.

The President will make presentations to executives, donors and board members. The President is a voting member of the board.

Responsibilities Include:

• Championing the organization and advocating its mission to internal and external stakeholders
• Ensuring that the organization's activities are legal and in line with its mission 
• Leading, managing, and developing the organization's employees, volunteers, and organizational culture 
• Developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating the organization's programs (including their impact)

Time Commitment: 8 hrs/week. We meet as a board once bi-weekly via Zoom.
