Royal Aid for Development (ROAD) in partnership with key

stakeholders and communities, continue to support vulnerable people across

South Sudan with essential life-saving assistance, whilst creating conducive environments

for sustainable returns and recovery. ROAD adopt a community-driven approach to

all programming, to facilitate transformative changes that address drivers of vulnerability

and risk. Tackling these challenges means not only making a positive and

lasting impact on the lives of South Sudanese affected by crises but also

fulfilling the promises of the Peace Agreement, creating a base of support for

its continued implementation and addressing potential drivers for future crises

and humanitarian needs

Currently at least 623,000 people have been affected by

widespread flooding in South Sudan since May, with many forced to flee their

homes. Rivers broke their banks following heavy rains, deluging houses and

farms

Our Aid workers are using canoes and boats to reach

stranded populations, with more than two-thirds of the affected areas now

facing the risk of hunger as food prices shoot up, recording a 15-percent jump

since August. Schools, homes, health facilities and water sources were

inundated, impacting people’s access to basic services. Physical access

remained a major challenge for humanitarian organizations to assess and respond

to the needs of flood-affected people. Some families have been able to flee to

the capital, Juba, while others have set up makeshift camps along highways,

grabbing what few possessions they could from the ruins of their flimsy

thatched huts. We need your help to enable us provide 300 household displaced

by flooding in South Sudan. You can give a helping hand for this flood affected

households just for them to gains back the human dignity, your support is key

in solving this problem.
