Summer - Elementary School Volunteer Tutor

Purpose/Objective

 The Center for the Integration and Advancement of New Americans (CIANA)Education team is seeking volunteers that would be great role models for our students by supporting them in completing their homework and strengthening their academic skills.

Key Responsibilities

Volunteer Tutors will support the Elementary School After School program by offering one-on-one virtual homework help to elementary school students in grades 1-5. Homework help sessions are conducted via Google Meets. Volunteer tutors might also be used as substitutes for other volunteers at times. 

Qualifications

• Passionate, committed, engaging!
• Experience in working with children is preferred, but not required.
• Background in mathematics and/or English is preferred.
• Stable internet connection 
• Gmail account
• Volunteers must be available on both Tuesday and Thursday. 
• Volunteers must be 16 + years of age at the time of application.

Time Commitment

• On-going; Immediate hire (flexible) 
• Tues & Thur 1.5-hour tutoring sessions between the hours of 3 - 6 PM

Training/Support Provided

Volunteers will undergo a brief and mandatory training with CIANA staff.
