Role:
A native English speaker interested in teaching English, Science and Math in a recognised co-ed day school from Nursery to Class X. Interest in co - curricular activities a definite plus. A reasonable monthly stipend , free accomodation and subsidised meals. About 4 hours daily in a 6 day week. Documentation and allied activities of project based social development activities in some of the poorest yet culturally richest areas of eastern India.
This is an opportunity to develop your own project ideas and be the refreshing change both within and outside the classroom.
The Intern works closely with the School Principal, teachers and senior NGO project staff.
Responsibilities -
1. School -
Teach English, Science and Math to the children in our school (non residential);
Improve co-curricular activities for children;
Give children a wider world view; and
Improve English, Science and Math teaching skills of our teachers;
2. NGO -
- Documentation,
- Reporting,
- Some correspondence.
Specific Skills and Experience required:
Excellent interpersonal skills, specially with children;
Strong writing and communication skills;
Computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office is required.

Meet deadlines; and
Able to deal with ambiguity and cultural differences.
