Exciting opportunity to join the FABRIC Foundation as the Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees'.

Commitment: 4 x Board Meetings per year plus AGM. Meetings are generally online (to allow for trustees across UK) but board intend on holding one in person meeting per year to develop the connection with operational team.) Communication in between meetings as and when required but limited to respect the position as voluntary.

The role of Deputy/ Vice Chair extends beyond the role of the Trustee. So in addition to your duties as a Trustee, the deputy chair has to take a leadership role in ensuring that the board of trustees fulfils its responsibilities for the governance of the organisation in relation to the particular responsibilities outlined below

In addition to those duties and responsibilities performed by all trustees (general trustee requirements can be gained by emailing fabricfoundation@fabrictclc.com), the Vice Chair is generally considered to lead on:

• In the absence of the Chair for Board Meetings, the Vice Chair is to take the Board Meeting.
• Assisting and supporting the Chair in providing leadership to the Board, through the governance arrangements, and also acting as a ‘sounding board’ and confidante to the Chair in the execution of his/her role.
• Building a strong and effective working relationship with the Chair and other Trustees.
• Carrying out the annual appraisal of the effectiveness of the Board Meetings.
• In conjunction with the Chair, take a leading role in finalising any changes to the structure and composition of the Board; and Monitoring the proper standards of corporate governance, and compliance with the Charity Governance Code in force at any time.
• Report any problems, personal concerns or absence to the Chair.
• Report any conflict of interest to the Chair as soon as possible.
• Ensure the charity is compliant with relevant legislation, as well as the requirements of regulatory bodies such as the Charity Commission.
• Adhere to the charity's own Code of Conduct.
• Sharing the Charities Social Media posts.

Please note trustee positions are voluntary. Expenses such as mileage for meetings can be provided
