volunteering in orphan supporting school
My organization Mentor Volunteers Uganda also known as a Centre for Child Advocacy and Life Planning ) runs three schools in different location in Uganda, and in our schools we educate and supports more than 800 children and since we started in the year 2000 more than 8000 children have been provided with free education.
Sadly, Uganda is a poor country with lot of social and economic challenges. The country is plagued by poverty, inequalities, inadequate sanitation, and its people suffer from a lack of access to education, and good nutrition.
Today, our schools needs volunteers more than ever. This is where you come in. When volunteer come in Uganda, they should Love children and enjoy talking to them, Be able to teach either kindergarten, primary or secondary school

The headmaster and director of studies work closely with the volunteers and interns during the school term. During school holidays, everything slows down and there are no teaching opportunities during this time. There are many other activities volunteers are able to lead the children in, some of which are:
- Sports training/games
- Craft making
- Choir - the secondary school have a choir who love to sing!
- Dance
- Drama
- Construction
- Brick making
- Gardening
- Carpentry and
- Working in a nutrition food producing school project
