College Guild, the nation’s only provider of free, supported, non-formal educational programs for prisoners, is seeking experienced volunteer board members to join its dedicated and dynamic Board of Directors.
About College Guild
Based in Brunswick, Maine and serving federal and state prisons and jails across the U.S., College Guild is preparing to take the next step in capacity building to meet increased demand for our courses. We currently serve 600 students on average per month, with a waiting list of over 600 prisoners. Our programs are unique in that we serve all prisoners, even those who do not qualify for other prison education programs, such as those serving life, who are on death row, who already have a GED, and who do not yet have a GED.

What We’re Looking For
Based on our recent review of skills, connections and lived experiences among current Directors, we are seeking new members who will help broaden our board in terms of representation and organizational readiness for a new era. We welcome applicants-local and national, and those who are connected to communities impacted by the carceral system.
We are seeking applications from people with strengths and networks in the following areas: human services, grant-writing, finance, marketing/ communications, operations/ info. technology, public policy/ advocacy for prison and justice issues, or fundraising.
