With over 25-years of proud service and commitment to the community, Haven Hospice provides a special type of care to those suffering from a life-limiting illness. Patients at end of life are in need of friendly visitors to provide companionship and caregiver relief. Volunteers, at least 18 years old, visit patients who reside in their own homes and in partner facilities in Middlesex and Somerset Counties. Visits are typically 1-2 hours, once a week, and are based on your schedule. Of special need are those with specialized skills/experience such as Pet Therapists, Reiki Practitioners, Eucharistic Ministers, Beauticians, Musicians, Veterans, and those who speak another language.
Volunteers are provided a thorough orientation free of charge. For more information, contact Elaine.Carlsen@HMHN.org for more information.
Current precautions: Following the CDC’s vaccine guidance, all HMH team members are required to have the COVID-19 vaccination. Universal masking is required.
