ReDI School of Digital Integration is a non-profit digital school for newcomers in Berlin. The school offers its students free, high-quality training, the chance to join the startup and digital industry, and a physical platform to connect newcomers to locals.
To support the students in their studies, ReDI equips them with workstations in co-working spaces and access to technical mentors to work in project groups. Apart from technological skills, ReDI also provides know-how of digital entrepreneurs, and connects students early on with the local startup scene and potential employers through networking events.
The ReDI Kids Program aims to teach digital skills to kids and teens between the ages of 9 and 16. It aims to be a safe place for kids to learn digital skills in a fun and playful way. Our Sunday workshops are held on Sundays for 3 hours and include different types of activities. We teach topics such as coding (HTML / CSS and Python), web design, Calliope Mini, cyber security and robotics. Students are divided into two groups based on age: Digital Ninjas (9-12), Digital Heroes (13-16).
We need volunteer to teach our participants and support them in their learning process. We especially need teachers who can teach coding in German, but also teachers who are willing to support the main teacher in class and prepare offline activities. Our volunteers are supported by ReDI School with curricula, training and organisation. If you want to master your teaching or presentation skills and be part of a colorful international network, you've come to the right place!
The courses are taught in German, B1 level is required.
Volunteer teachers in the children's program should have basic knowledge of the following topics:
- HTML / CSS
- Basics of Coding
- Basics of Robotics
The courses take place every Sunday, from 11 am to 2 pm in Berlin-Mitte.
You support 4 to 6 hours per month, depending on your role in the teaching team and your time availability.
If you are open-minded, love Tech and you are still a child in your heart.
Please note: For this volunteering opportunity, you need German skills on the level B1 or higher
