Volunteer Mentors- Get matched with a child that needs a positive adult role model in their life.

Want to make a new friend and experience fun and new activities? Being a Big Brother or a Big Sister is a way to do that and one of the most rewarding things you’ll ever do. As a Big, you have the power to make an impact on a child in the community and above all, just be there for a kid who needs a friend.

For just a few hours a couple of times a month, you can help a child succeed. Big Brothers Big Sisters is different from other mentoring organizations in that we seek volunteers who are committed and consistent, willing to serve at least a year, but we hope until a child graduates high school. It’s what makes our programs successful, helping kids who face adversity beat the odds. Professional staff are there to work with you, the child and the family throughout the course of the mentoring relationship to provide necessary training and support.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic we are currently seeking volunteers for a virtual mentoring relationships. You and your Little can do things you already enjoy doing, just do them together virtually! Like:

- learning a new skill together - like cooking

- playing an online game

- reading a book together

-making a fun craft

- just talking and hanging out

Requirements for being a Big in one of our programs are:

Be willing to meet with a child virtually for 30 minutes a week

Be at least 18 years-old, (however we have no age limit for Bigs!)

As you can see it doesn’t take much, so think about volunteering today!

Our Programs:

• Community Based Virtual Mentoring - matches Littles in one-to-one relationships with volunteer mentors, "Bigs." Matches meet on their own for 30 minutes each week and participate in online activities of their choice.
• Step Up Virtual Mentoring - is a collaborative effort between BBBSF and Coconino County Juvenile Court Services to bring group and individual mentoring into the lives of court-involved teens. Groups meet weekly and participate in various virtual activities that promote positive community connections.
