Volunteer - Grants Writer

femLENS is looking for a volunteer Grants Writer to help growing and sustain the organisation. femLENS is a non-profit association committed to developing and including women's voices into storytelling and the cultural representation of women and their communities in the world.

Through documentary photography education, photo exhibitions, collaborations with the media and other non-profits, femLENS encourages women to develop their visions and voices, tell stories, act as role models in their communities, engage with technology in a deeper way, as well as develop possible income-generating skills.

The Grant Writer & Fundraising Volunteer will actively support our funds development strategy. The successful volunteer will be able to craft funding proposals and reports in a clear and compelling manner, as well as organise small fundraising events, and come up with creative ideas to raise funds for different projects.

To ensure success you need to write well, have proficient knowledge of fundraising methods and be committed to the mission you are representing.

Responsibilities:

• Research and identify available government and private funding opportunities.
• Maintaining a grants calendar, preparing grant applications, and submitting grant reports in collaboration with femLENS team.
• Generate revenues for femLENS workshops through submission of researched, well- written, and well-documented fundraising proposals.
• Write reports to foundations, governments, and other funders.

Requirements:

• Experience writing persuasive letters or proposals.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Be initiative with focused result driven commitment.
• Ability to work flexibly in a team with enthusiasm and commitment.

This role is remote and previous experience working with online tools is desirable.
