Summary

The Center for Evidence-Based Management (CEBMa) is an independent, non-profit organization founded by an international group of management scholars and practitioners with the mission of helping people in organizations make better decisions with the use of evidence-based practice & management.  Our vision is of a society where evidence-based practice is a defining feature of what it means to be a professional in business and non-profit organizations.  We know that better decisions don't only make businesses more profitable, but they also enhance the work and lives of everyone impacted by them.  We are an education-focused not-for-profit looking for motivated and enthusiastic volunteers to join our Grant Writing & Fundraising Team.  We recognize that grants exist for NFPs with an educational mission but until now we haven't had the time or ability to pursue these.  We're looking for someone to help us find, track, and apply to these grants with the hopes of bolstering our operating revenue to fulfill our mission and fund specific projects.  Experience is an asset but isn't necessarily required.  This is an excellent opportunity to develop a career in nonprofits and/or fundraising development by seeing how it all works in a creative, dynamic environment

The Role:

CEBMa is seeking a Grants Researcher & Writer to assist with designing, preparing, and implementing grant applications. 

This is an excellent opportunity to develop a career in nonprofits and/or fundraising development by seeing how it all works in a creative, dynamic environment. 

This is an unpaid & remote volunteer opportunity and associates must be responsive to emails within 48 hours.

Responsibilities:

• Provide assistance to the Grants and Fundraising Team in the achievement of their goals
• Design, prepare, implement, and complete grant applications.
• Research and compile information on grant prospects.
• Research, identify and apply for local, state, federal, and private foundation funding sources for specific projects and programs.
• Participate in regular (once a month) meetings with the Grants and Fundraising Team (as scheduled in the EST timezone.)
• Brainstorm and contribute to the discussions with the Grants and Fundraising Team
• Review grant proposals and applications prepared completeness, accuracy, and timeliness. 
• Manage grant applications by working with various departments in the application and monitoring process to ensure successful grant awards and grant compliance.
• Assist in the development of a grants administration work plan which includes goals, objectives and measurable workload indicators for the grants function

It would be nice if you had the following:

• Excellent writing, editing, and presentation ability
• Effective writing and oral communication skills
• A clear, courteous, and professional work demeanour
• Fundraising experience or education an asset
• Knowledge of fund development principles and public relations is an asset

Brief Summary
