The Dartmouth Institute is the health services research and education center at Dartmouth College under the prestigious Geisel School of Medicine.
We are made up of a diverse group of scholars, researchers, clinicians, students, and administrators with a wide array of interests and aims. But one thing unites us: We care deeply about health and health care. Working in partnership with individuals and organizations around the country, and throughout the world, we are striving to improve population health, reduce disparities, and create high-performing, sustainable health systems.
Founded in 1769, Dartmouth is a member of the Ivy League and consistently ranks among the world’s leading academic institutions. The Dartmouth Institute is the place for you if you want to: use data analysis to impact policy, learn new quality improvement methods that will enable you to introduce meaningful change into an organization or system, or translate research findings into action to advance population health.
Accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH), Dartmouth’s MPH degree program is offered in two formats: 11 months on the Dartmouth campus, recognized as one of the most beautiful college campuses in the country, or 22 months online with a week-long on-campus session three times per year in which you’ll spend time exchanging ideas and insights with colleagues, classmates, and Dartmouth Institute’s pioneering faculty.

- GRE scores are optional for all applicants.
- All non-native English speakers must submit either the TOEFL or IELTS to demonstrate proficiency in English. Results shouldn’t be more than two years old. This requirement is waived for applicants who received a degree from an institution outside the U.S. where instruction is in English.

Clubes & Associações
Students supplement their studies with participating in a variety of extracurricular activities at The Dartmouth Institute and across Dartmouth’s campus. The Medical Ethics interest groups and the Global Health Scholars are particularly popular among our students. Students also participate in The Dartmouth Institute Student Advisory Council, the Geisel Graduate Council, and the Dartmouth Graduate Studies Council.
