Nosso Programa

We believe that planning can change the world.

Urban and regional planners improve the lives of people through changing the environmental quality, economic vitality, and social equity of places. At Taubman College, we educate and encourage our students to be change-oriented leaders in both the professional world and the academy. Two important themes -- social justice and environmental sustainability -- are central to our teaching, research, and working with community partners, all aimed at improving public decision-making and the physical design of spaces. Through a flexible curriculum, our students grapple with the challenges of these themes, and they enrich their educational experience by tapping into the remarkable campus-wide resources that are available here at one of the world’s premier public universities.

At Taubman College, we believe that we can make change through planning. If you share that belief, we invite you to join us as we strengthen and enhance our cities and communities.

O que nossos estudantes dizem

  • Jermaine Ruffin image

"I was ready to make that next step to be a leader in the thought space and practice of community and economic development. The experience I gained during my capstone project prepared me for the work I do now in many ways."

    Jermaine Ruffin, MURP ‘17
  • Kristin Baja image

"Racist policies and practices purposely created inequitable distribution of economic, social and political power, which puts communities of color at most risk to the impacts from climate change. I chose Michigan because the dual degree with the School for Environment and Sustainability allowed me to work on climate change and social systems."

    Kristin Baja, MURP/MS ‘11
  • Karis Tzeng image

"I grew not only academically, but also through a deeper understanding about social justice, personal reflections about identity, tangible skills through internships and leadership through student organizations.

    Karis Tzeng, MURP ‘19
