Description

ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION

Team Rubicon is a veteran-led humanitarian organization that serves global communities before, during, and after disasters and crises. Our vision is to support humanity and build resiliency for vulnerable communities across the world.. To achieve this, Team Rubicon takes action in the face of immediate crises and works to help communities rebuild in the long-term as well; additionally, Team Rubicon provides emergency medicine and water, sanitation, and hygiene services as part of our international disaster response. Founded in 2010 with an initial team of eight, Team Rubicon (TR) now has more than 170,000 volunteers and has conducted over 1,200 disaster response operations across the country and around the world.

As a veteran-led organization, Team Rubicon leverages the unique skills and experiences of veterans to help people prepare, respond, and recover from natural disasters and humanitarian crises. Through continued service, Team Rubicon is also able to provide veterans with three things they crave after leaving the military: a purpose, gained through disaster relief; community, built by serving with others; and identity, from recognizing the impact one individual can make. Finally, by bringing people from different backgrounds together to serve a common mission for the greater good, Team Rubicon also builds connections, compassion, and understanding amongst our volunteers and the communities they serve.

Across the world, disasters are a part of life. No corner of the globe is spared from severe weather – be it crippling winter storms, catastrophic hurricanes, or unchecked wildfires. By focusing on underserved or economically-challenged communities, Team Rubicon seeks to make the largest impact possible. Disasters represent a massive financial cost, and by providing immediate relief work, free of cost, Team Rubicon aims to help communities begin recovery sooner.

Team Rubicon's rapid growth is built upon our unique business model that connects the unparalleled capabilities of veterans with a new, humanitarian mission. But more importantly, our success is built on the grit, talent and commitment of our people. Our culture requires individuals foolish enough to think they can change the world, and smart enough to have a shot. Every day is a challenge, but every challenge brings opportunities to help disaster-affected communities when they need it most. Click here to see more on our mission, culture, and core values.

Team Rubicon has won numerous industry awards, but more notably has been named to Inc.'s "Best Workplaces" list in 2018 and 2019, and the Nonprofit Times' "Top Nonprofits to Work For in America" in 2015, 2016, 2017 (when we were #1), and 2020 - 2023.
