Description

Who we are:

The LoveYourBrain Foundation is a US-based nonprofit that improves the quality of life of people affected by traumatic brain injury (TBI). Since 2014, we’ve been pioneering the use of yoga and mindfulness for healing after TBI (including concussion), advancing the science behind its benefits, and re-imagining how people can actively participate in improving their quality of life. This is an exciting time for our organization - 2024 is our 10-year anniversary, and our Executive Director was recently recognized as a Top Ten CNN Hero (see video segment here: https://www.cnn.com/2023/03/10/us/yoga-meditation-retreat-traumatic-brain-injury-cnnheroes/index.html ). Our comprehensive model of care is growing, and continues to be available at no-cost because of our fundraising efforts.

About our team:

We are a growing, deeply passionate team that represents both lived and learned experiences of brain injury. We share core values (be curious, be real, be compassionate, be fun, be inclusive) and see our work as an extension of who we are, how we want to live, and as a catalyst for our growth as humans.

Growth mindset:

A growth mindset thrives on challenge and sees failure not as evidence of lack but as a springboard for growth and for stretching our existing abilities. Not only are people not discouraged by failure, but they don’t actually see themselves as failing in those situations — they see themselves as learning. People have a passion for learning rather than a hunger for approval. Because adversity is so present for our community, a growth mindset is the foundation of the LoveYourBrain team culture.

About the Role:

The Development Coordinator or Manager (depending on experience) plays a crucial role in meeting our annual fundraising goals, which leads to more impact and support for the brain injury community around the world. This requires a combination of project management and relationship building - you’ll be responsible for all administrative, operational, and logistical support, and charged with building authentic and compassionate relationships with our fundraisers, donors, and stakeholders. You’ll have the opportunity to play a key role in all fundraising efforts aligned with our strategic priorities: foundation grants, major donor stewardship, events and campaigns, peer-to-peer fundraising, our online storefront, and more. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, flexible, personable, self-motivated, and ready to grow and evolve with our organization.

LoveYourBrain believes that TBI, caregiving, and the intersections where our organization works - namely within healthcare, yoga, and wellness spaces - disproportionality impact the most marginalized in our society, including BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, women, non-binary people, people living with disabilities, people with intersecting identities, and others with lived experience being part of marginalized communities. We believe these communities must be centered in the work we do. Therefore we strongly encourage applications from people with these identities or who are members of other marginalized communities.
