Elissa Silverman has just been elected to represent Washington D.C. as an at-large member of the D.C. Council. The Council is the central and chief policy-making body for the District of Columbia, responsible for both legislation and oversight of District agencies.
Elissa Silverman has focused her career on making the District and its government accountable, responsive, and accessible to residents through her work as a budget analyst, reporter, and progressive reformer. She has been a leader on a diverse set of progressive issues, including campaign finance reform and last year's successful efforts to raise the minimum wage and expand paid sick days.
