Zikwa

zikwa is a "not just for profits" social enterprise that runs on a hybrid model of social entrepreneurship and social activism. We run an art and design project for young adults with diverse disabilities and adolescents in shelter homes. The project focusses on talent management, art therapy and design thinking.

zikwa operates on a simple philosophy of creating more valuefrom less for more people. We design ultra low cost products for people at the bottom of the pyramid. zikwa uses the same design skills to create unique, high end items for corporate gifting and retailing to sustain its ground projects.

zikwa believes charity is not sustainable and sustainability does not need charity. Our initiativeis to fix problems we see around us, persisting until we see the desired change, and modelling our efforts on the fundamentals of meaningful co-existence in every action we undertake.
