Grants & Contracts Lead

We are looking for an organized, customer-oriented Grants & Contracts Lead who is excited to make grant applications easier for climate tech companies.

• I’ve worked in the grant writing space and won millions in funding. I’m excited to leverage modern tools (like AI) to accelerate my work and help climate companies win non-dilutive funding!
• I’m an experienced project manager and have worked in client-facing roles. I’m excited to leverage my organization and customer service skills to accelerate climate solutions!
• I love climate, I love startups, but I’m not experienced in government grants or contracts. However, I’m a quick learner with a growth mindset.

🏆 What You'll Do

• Leverage our AI tools to craft compelling 100+ page grant application packages that align with the customer’s win themes.
• Collaborate closely with the engineering team to help drive improvements to our internal AI tooling and drive more efficiency in application work.
• Own the end-to-end project management for application work ensuring all stakeholders are aligned on key action items and on track for the submission due date.
• Proactively engage with customers to understand their needs, provide guidance, and drive value realization.
• Act as a trusted advisor and strategic partner, guiding our customers on how to strengthen their applications and increase their odds of winning funding.

• You aren’t scared of 150 page RFPs or FOAs. Instead, you’re excited to deepen your expertise or continue learning the intricacies of the grants and non-dilutive world in climate tech.
• Tech savvy: You are comfortable learning new software tools and are curious about modern technologies like LLMs and AI.
• You’re also willing and able to communicate product and technical feedback to Pioneer’s engineers so they can continue improving our automation capabilities.
• Excellent time management: You know how to manage your time effectively and prioritize in the face of many important priorities.
• Concise and persuasive communicator: You have been told you’re a strong writer and know how to craft a clear and persuasive message.
• Customer-centric approach: You share our passion for creating positive customer experiences and are committed to helping customers achieve their goals.
• Passion for climate solutions: You have a demonstrated passion or commitment to mitigating the effects of climate change and are excited by our mission.

🚀 Bonus Points

• Deep experience in grants: This could entail working at government agencies, philanthropic funders, as a grant writer, and/or in government in some other capacity. You have successfully won multiple bids you’ve worked on and/or reviewed dozens of applications.
• Experience in climate: You’ve worked on RD&D with the DOE or come to us with deep expertise & passion in a specific climate topic like EVs, renewables, circular economy etc.
• Experience at startups: While not required for this role, prior experience in startups is a plus! At minimum you should be excited to dive into a fast-paced, high ownership environment.
• Knowledge of AI: Familiarity with AI and LLMs a plus. Excitement mandatory.

📝 Job Details

• Location: We are a fully remote team with quarterly retreats. We’re only considering US-based candidates at this time.
• Salary Range: $80,000 - $90,000
• Contract-to-Hire: This role will begin as a full-time contract-to-hire and will transition to a permanent full-time role within 2 months if there’s a mutual fit.
