Capital Bookkeeping Cooperative (CBC) is a worker-owned company founded in March 2017 that provides bookkeeping, systems creation and financial management services to a wide range of small business in the Capital Region and beyond. We are a worker cooperative, which means we are owned and governed by our employees, who are paid wages and share the company’s profits.
The mission of CBC is to create jobs and a pathway to ownership for people from different walks of life. This means growing our own business to include more worker-owners, and eventually helping to start and support other cooperatives in the area.
Having started with two worker-owners in March of last year, we have grown to the point of bringing on a third associate. The position will start as a part-time, hourly position, with the potential to become a full time salaried position. With the approval of the current members, this individual will be eligible to become a third co-owner of the business within six to twelve months.
