ABOUT THE ROLE & THE DEPARTMENT:

Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Administrative & Project Coordinator will provide primary administrative and clerical support and assist with planning and implementing projects and programs for two small departments: the Peace Commission (Peace) and the Police Review & Advisory Board (PRAB), located at 51 Inman Street, 2nd Floor. The Peace Commission works with other municipal agencies, communities of faith, and nonprofit organizations to promote positive dialogue, foster understanding, and coordinate compassionate community responses to support recovery and healing in the wake of traumatic events and violence affecting Cambridge and its residents. The Commission organizes events and programs, including the City’s annual commemorations of Martin Luther King Day and of the Holocaust, as well as the citywide Meet Your Neighbor Day each September. It also supports the work of the Citizens’ Committee on Civic Unity, which fosters fairness, equity, unity, appreciation, and mutual understanding across all people and entities in Cambridge.
