Descrição

A growing nonpartisan nonprofit working to modernize U.S. democratic institutions against polarization is seeking a committed and talented person to build and lead our development program while also contributing to our well-established and successful content development and communications program.

POSITION SUMMARY

The specialist will be responsible for taking existing ad hoc development efforts and revamping them into an organized and effective program to take advantage of significant growth opportunities in our space. Key responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing all fundraising campaigns and communications;

• Developing and implementing a major donors program in coordination with the Executive

Director;

• Support for external communications, include email newsletters, website updates, and

press releases;

• Helping to shape and implement social media strategy;

• Developing and executing ERN’s member strategy to support engagement;

• Launching new initiatives to grow membership.

The specialist will work remotely, most likely on a half-time basis, though the timeframe is open to discussion. The specialist will report to the Executive Director (based in Newton, MA). Note that ERN is also recruiting to fill a part time communications position. We are open to one person combining both roles.

This role offers a great opportunity to be a part of the solution to the country’s pressing democracy challenges. ERN is committed to developing election solutions that can gain support from a wide range of political perspectives; for that reason it is essential that the candidate be open-minded, non-dogmatic, and skilled at understanding and working with a wide range of people and perspectives.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• At least three years experience in fundraising, preferably for a nonprofit in a related field;

• Excellent writing and editing skills;

• Passion for strengthening American democracy, and a commensurate ability to understand

different political perspectives and work toward broadly supported solutions;

• Flexibility and initiative to work both independently and as part of a team;

• Robust fundraising network.
