 Based in NYC, we are a dynamic growth-oriented organization with a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging in our network, governance, and workplace for fifty years.  Inclusiv seeks a Vice President of Finance who will support this rapidly growing organization and build a strong and sustainable organization.   

Overview

The Vice President of Finance will play a vital role in managing the fiscal functions of Inclusiv and ensuring the accurate future projections of revenues, expenses, and asset-liability matching. This position requires a highly talented individual with prior experience, along with a strong understanding of all aspects of financial health, growth, and sustainability of a growing non-profit organization.  The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced and growing environment.  Currently, Inclusiv has $110 million under management. 

This position will be a direct report to the Chief Financial Officer. 

Responsibilities Include

Financial planning & strategy: 

• Drive our strategic and financial planning cycles, developing comprehensive models and scenarios to evaluate growth opportunities and operational plans.

• Provide data-driven recommendations to allocate resources and prioritize initiatives. 

• Manage the forecasting of employee time allocations and associated funding.   

Financial operations: 

• In collaboration with CFO and Fiscal Team, own all aspects of financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and regulatory compliance. 

• Assist the CFO in engaging the Finance Committee regarding the organization’s financial results and future projections.   

• Understand financial drivers, opportunities and challenges of organizations incorporating relevant benchmark information. Provide actionable advice to drive the company forward and execute its strategy.

Goal setting, KPIs & reporting: 

• Establish Fiscal KPIs linking to the strategic plan. 

• Develop robust tracking and reporting mechanisms, deliver actionable insights, and ensure tight team alignment.

Capital strategy, Asset-Liability Management & Investor Relations: 

• Directly manage capital planning and funding strategy. 

• Interface with Asset-Liability Analytics vendor and manage ongoing ALM Risk

• In collaboration with Inclusiv staff, directly manage fiscal investor communications and due diligence requests.

Business partnership & strategic projects: 

• Develop a deep understanding of Inclusiv products, markets, and operations. 

• Partner cross-functionally, acting as a strategic advisor, driving ad hoc analytical and operational projects, and supporting critical decisions. 

Revenue and expense analysis: 

• Develop and execute quarterly and annual revenue and expense plans,

• Analyze and share insights on key revenue and expense  trends, 

• Design and measure metrics to enhance overall productivity helping Inclusiv to scale our business effectively

Build and lead a high-performing Finance Team: 

• Together with CFO, develop, and recruit top talent as Inclusiv grows its Finance Team.

• Mentor and develop a collaborative, results-driven Fiscal Team focused on continuous improvement. 

• Assess the Finance Teams’ capabilities through periodic performance reviews against roles, responsibilities, and objectives. 

• Leverage strengths of finance team members and develop and implement appropriate continuing education programs to ensure staff are aligned to their respective roles and positioned to achieve both individual and organizational goals. 

• Other responsibilities/duties as needed. 

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Commitment to Inclusiv mission of community development and engagement

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required; CPA and/or Masters degree preferred 

• 7-10 years of experience in community development finance, strategy, investment banking, and management consulting are required.  

• Keen analytic, organization and problem-solving skills which allow for financial data interpretation versus simple reporting.  

• Proven strategic thinking, business judgment, and problem-solving skills; track record leading complex, analytical, and operational projects from conception through execution.

• Exceptional financial and analytical capabilities with granular attention to detail and accuracy.

• Technology savvy with experience selecting and overseeing financial software installations and managing relationships with software vendors; advanced knowledge of accounting and reporting software. 

• Experience collaborating with finance team members and organization leaders to continually assess and identify opportunities to improve finance processes and systems 

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; experience in effectively communicating a variety of audiences including presentations to senior management, board or other outside stakeholders. 

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to synthesize complex information and convey insights to cross-functional teams and senior management.

• Skill in successfully mentoring, training, and retaining a diverse team with the management competency and evaluation skills to delegate accordingly.  

Salary Range: $135,000-$160,000 annually. The salary range for this position is commensurate with experience.
