Girls Not Brides is the only global organisation uniquely focused on creating and sustaining a worldwide movement to end child, early and forced marriage and unions (CEFMU) and ensuring that this movement leads to tangible change for the girls at risk or affected by the practice. We are a network of over 1,400 civil society organisations in over 100 countries working in partnership to end child marriage.
Our vision is a world without child marriage where girls and women enjoy equal status with boys and men and are able to achieve their full potential in all aspects of their lives. Our vision challenges deeply embedded social norms that harm the lives of girls, women and their communities.
This role sits within the Global Communications Team at Girls Not Brides. This role is responsible for developing and delivering our multi-channel social media plan, that effectively shows the impact of our work, amplifies the work of our members, engages with our members, and supports our communications and secretariat strategies.
In this role you will design and develop social media content that fits with our content strategy and calendar, across photo, graphics, video, and other media. This role will also contribute more widely to our storytelling agenda, including gathering content, developing, and delivering storytelling content across written and visual formats. This role will ensure our communications meet ethical communications guidelines, are available in multiple languages, and that our assets are managed carefully.
As Social Media and Communications Officer, you will work within the Global Communications Team and closely with teams across the secretariat to implement our communications strategy. You will implement a multi-channel communications plan that supports our brand story, highlights our impact, raises awareness on child marriage and gender equality, and supports our members in sharing their work. You will also contribute to content creation for our website and other channels.
