Group Leader - Job Description
Organization Overview: The mission of the “I Have A Dream” Foundation – New York (IHDF-NY) is to motivate and empower children and families living in underserved areas of the tri-state region to reach their college and career goals. We achieve this by providing a dynamic, long-term program of mentoring, tutoring, and enrichment with an assured opportunity for higher education. Our unique approach involves sponsoring entire grade levels of 50-100 students (known as “Dreamers”) in under-resourced public schools or housing developments and supporting them from early elementary school through high school. Upon high school graduation, each Dreamer receives guaranteed tuition assistance for higher education.
By helping our Dreamers gain access to college, we aim to change their academic and life trajectories, positively impacting their families and future generations.
Job Summary: The After School Group Leader supports the after-school activities at the “I Have A Dream” Foundation – New York: East Harlem Program. This role involves directly tutoring and coaching elementary and middle school students in small group settings and one-on-one sessions.
