Position Summary:

The Development Assistant will be responsible for providing project support to the Community Trust Officer, Manager of Estate Administration and Associate Accounting Manager. This individual will have a crucial role in the PG&E team by assisting in the processing of all gifts. The responsibilities include but are not limited to maintaining tracking systems, scheduling, communication and follow-up, generating reports, taking on various departmental projects, and helping at UJA events as needed. 

This position requires a high level of attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills. A strong candidate will be an organized self-starter who can prioritize and execute multiple responsibilities. Additionally, the ideal candidate must be an adept multitasker who takes ownership and ensures complete follow-up and accuracy. 

Major Responsibilities: 

  • Processing, recording, and reviewing all transactions related to the Community Trust and Estates areas of Planned Giving.
  • Accurately and efficiently track estates and manage correspondence related to estate donor acknowledgement and recognition.
  • Collaborate with the accounting department in processing and depositing gifts.
  • Review documents including Wills and Trusts for gift allocation.
  • Prepare annual reports, acknowledgments, trust spending confirmations, and other correspondence to sponsors and beneficiaries of the Community Trust.
  • Communicate with Community Trust service provider agency, families, and beneficiaries.
  • Research donor information.
  • Read, analyze, and interpret general business correspondence.
  • Provide support at meetings, programs and events.
  • Maintain digital and hard copy files.
  • Assist team with ongoing projects.

 Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Excellent computer skills including knowledge of all Microsoft office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams).
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills.
  • Ability to develop good rapport and communicate effectively with a wide range of internal and external professionals.
  • Willingness to learn new databases and software.
  • Ability to prioritize projects, multitask, and take on additional tasks.
  • Positive work ethic and ability to work as part of a team.   

Salary Information:

The salary range for this position is $45,000- $48,000 commensurate with experience and qualifications.
