    Descrição

Bilingual Assistant Director of Programs and Advancement

    Organization Overview

Horizons at Dedham Country Day is a community-centered education program serving 135 students from the Greater Boston area. Horizons builds long-term partnerships with students, families, communities, and schools to create experiences outside of school that inspire the joy of learning and build academic skills. The main component of Horizons is a six-week summer program at Dedham Country Day, where students participate in academic, cultural, and recreational enrichment activities. The six-week program is supplemented by a school-year program, where students participate in after-school tutoring, and community-building events.

Horizons at DCD operates a proven model and, while operating as an independent chapter, is part of an affiliated network with over 70 Horizons sites serving students across the country.

    Position Summary

Horizons at DCD is seeking a Bilingual Assistant Director of Programs and Advancement. Because approximately 40% of our students speak Spanish at home, being bilingual in Spanish and English is an important skill in this role. We value strong relationships with our families, and the ability to communicate in their native language helps ensure every family feels welcomed, informed, and supported. This role will also assist with translating materials and communications for our Spanish-speaking families.

Working closely with the Executive Director, this role ensures high-quality programming for students of all grade levels, while also helping to sustain the organization’s growth through fundraising and communications support. The Bilingual Assistant Director of Programs and Advancement will support in the management of the summer and year-round educational programming, while also contributing to grant writing, development activities, and marketing.

This is an excellent growth opportunity for an individual with strong program management skills, an interest in nonprofit development, and a passion for closing the achievement gap for students in Greater Boston. With mentorship from the Executive Director, the Assistant Director will have opportunities to grow into a leadership role within the organization.

This is a salaried position averaging 28-36 hours per week, with some seasonal variation based on program needs. We recognize that flexibility is important, so we’d like to discuss a schedule and workload that prioritizes the needs of the program while ultimately ensuring it’s a good fit on both sides. The role is hybrid with the ability to work one day remotely per week during the academic-year and fully in-person during the 6 week summer program.
