Roles and Responsibilities

The Development and Communications Associate is responsible for the following:

1.      Work with the Director of Funding Resources in all aspects of fundraising and institutional advancement, including research on donor prospects and potential funders, implementing stewardship of donors at all levels, and assisting with communications and outreach.

2.      Participate in the facilitation of gift processing, updating database records, generating acknowledgement letters, and other communication with donors.

3.      

Assist with the planning, implementation, and promotion of special events, fundraisers, and public programs that help to broaden awareness of Ragdale with local and national communities.

4.      

Work on the preparation and distribution of meeting materials for the Board of Trustees and assist board members with requests for information.

5.      

Serve as the lead staff member in coordinating collateral materials, producing a quarterly online newsletter, maintaining the organization’s social media calendar, and working with affiliated staff on content creation and social posts.

6.      Serve as the lead staff member in maintaining the organization’s website and working with affiliated staff on content updates to ensure information remains relevant and up to date.

7.      Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and skillsets

This position requires a bachelor’s degree, along with a minimum of two years’ experience working with non-profit or similar organizations and/or direct experience with fundraising, communications, writing and/or marketing. Candidates need to possess strong organizational skills and pay close attention to details. This position requires familiarity with Microsoft Office 365. Proficiency with Word, Excel and Outlook is a plus. The Development and Communications Associate should have experience or knowledge of Donor Perfect or related CRM platforms to manage gifts, donor relationships, communications, acknowledgement letters and other initiatives. Additional experience should include a familiarity with Squarespace or other website template platforms and a working knowledge of Constant Contact or similar email & digital marketing and communications platforms, in addition to ease working with social media platforms. Candidates should have an interest or experience working with arts and culture organizations and an appreciation for the architectural and cultural legacy of Ragdale and the surrounding landscape. Fluency speaking Spanish a plus, but not required. Availability for occasional evening or weekend events is required.
