About the Role

The German Society of Pennsylvania seeks attentive, trustworthy, and responsible individuals to serve as Event Chaperones for rental events (weddings, recitals, parties, etc.) in our historic building. Event Chaperones provide on-site supervision and logistical support to ensure events run smoothly and in accordance with facility policies.

Key Responsibilities

• • Supervise deliveries and vendor access/set-up/breakdown
  • Monitor event activities and ensure compliance with facility and event policies
  • Serve as on-site point of contact for clients, vendors, guests, and staff
  • Troubleshoot day-of issues and escalate as needed
  • Perform minor maintenance tasks and general event support
  • Make frequent rounds of all event areas, including stairwells and upper floors
  • Provide similar support at select German Society–hosted events as assigned

Schedule & Availability

• • Part-time; shifts vary and typically range 7–14 hours
  • Weekend availability required, with occasional weeknight shifts

Qualifications

• • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills; calm, professional demeanor
  • Reliable, organized, and solutions-oriented with sound judgment
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs and to walk/stand for extended periods, including climbing stairs
  • Familiarity with event operations or facilities support is a plus.

Requirements

• • Successful criminal background check prior to start.

Compensation

• • Starting at $22/hour, commensurate with skills.
