    Knoxville Habitat for Humanity seeks Mortgage Manager to join our team! Resumes with cover letters will be accepted thru October 31, 2025.

    Job Summary: The Mortgage Manager’s primary responsibility is to service all homeowner mortgage accounts to include processing payments, addressing delinquencies, setting up payment plans, and managing escrow accounts

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Mortgage Servicing

    • Manages all mortgage accounts
    • Processes monthly payments
    • Collaborates with Chief Financial Officer on monthly reconciliations
    • Executes loss mitigation and foreclosure prevention policies with homeowners facing issues such as delinquency, refinancing, bankruptcy, and foreclosures
    • Monitors loss
    • mitigation payments to ensure terms are followed
    • Reports status of mortgages to internal and external stakeholders
    • Coordinates with Family Services Department to implement delinquency policies
    • Ensures confidentiality of records and borrower’s information
    • Administers mortgage escrow accounts. Ensures property taxes, HOA fees, homeowners’ insurance, forced placed insurance, escrow refunds, and escrow vendor payments, are paid on time. Monitors escrow shortages, insurance claims, and performs escrow analysis on a regular basis
    • Initiates foreclosure proceedings with affiliate attorney (with the support of Director of Family Services)
    • Notifies affiliate attorney of bankruptcy filings
    • Reports homeowner payment history to Credit Reporting Bureau monthly
    • Demonstrates commitment and strict adherence to best ethical practices and laws such as, but not limited to Fair Housing Act, Equal Credit Opportunity Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act,
    • Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act
    • Maintains files in accordance with record retention policies such as:
    • Mortgage Statements
    • Late fee letters
    • Administers FICS mortgage software environment and eStatus client portal
    • Coordinates software updates
    • Creates and maintains custom reports

    Audit

    • Supports annual audits by preparing the following items:
    • Mortgage balance listing
    • Annual FICS reconciliation
    • Mortgage confirmation letters
    • Mortgage aging stats
    • Other data and information as requested by auditors

    Training

    • Habitat for Humanity International Loan Origination
    • Tennessee Mortgage Loan Originator Training
    • Annual Credit Reporting Training

    Minimum Qualifications

    • A commitment to Knoxville Habitat for Humanity’s vision of affordable housing for everyone
    • Ability to work in a team environment and creatively address challenges
    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent practical experience that provides candidate with requisite knowledge skills and abilities
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate with people of diverse backgrounds
    • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks
    • Ability to manage detailed information, records, and maintain confidentiality
    • Must
    • be able to meet the minimum requirements to maintain a Qualified Loan Originator certification.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Proficient knowledge of FICS Loan Servicer system
    • Proficient with QuickBooks Enterprise
