Position Overview

The [Senior National Organizer] reports directly to [Director]  to lead our grassroots campaign work, specifically supporting grassroots leadership development and campaign tactics for global climate cooperation.

The following responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. • Responsibility #1: Lead Outreach and grassroots relationship building in 5 target legislative districts
• Develop strategic plan and power map to identify important potential progressive allies and constituencies
• Conduct outreach and secure 1-1s with individuals and organizations who might be allies
• Responsibility #2: Digital and Decentralized Organizing 
• Identify moments of digital and decentralized organizing opportunities
• Support existing volunteer base and digital activists to take action in any district around the country
• Coach and support decentralized activists as needed
• Responsibility #3: Campaigning Strategy and Advocacy
• Stay up to date on policy and political developments about climate, international development, US-China relations, migrant crisis, and domestic AAPI issues
• Bring Key Legislative District volunteers and organizations into congressional advocacy
• Create toolkits and digital advocacy opportunities for decentralized organizing
• Responsibility #4: Grassroots fundraising 
• Recruit individual members to become monthly sustaining donors 

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience, excellent listening, verbal, and writing communication skills, experience in grassroots community organizing and political strategy, commitment to social and economic justice, and knowledge of issues affecting working-class immigrants in the US. Microsoft Office proficiency is required. Must be able to stretch, bend, kneel, twist, squat, reach above or below the shoulder, push, grasp, and lift up to 20 pounds. able to walk, drive, write, stand, and sit. 

We are strongly interested in candidates in Texas and Illinois, but for the right candidate will consider remote applicants. Speaking Spanish is a plus.

This exempt position is 40 hours per week. The salary range is $70,000-$75,000 depending on experience.
