Our work space is shared with corporate innovators, researchers, artists, and entrepreneurs, and is connected to an event space and our digital community. We work collaboratively and in a complementary manner with our neighbors at Pier17, the Consulate General, the Swiss Business Hub USA and Switzerland Tourism.

Positioned at the heart of the artificial intelligence boom, Swissnex in San Francisco aims to enhance its expertise and forge connections with key players in the local artificial intelligence landscape.

Position Summary

The Artificial Intelligence Program Manager will cultivate strategic relationships with Swiss and American research institutions, think tanks, corporates, and startups. They will create collaborative projects aimed at enhancing collaboration between Swiss and American entities while strengthening the interdisciplinary approach of Swissnex in San Francisco.

The ideal candidate possesses robust project management experience, a genuine interest in the latest AI trends, and a well-established network, preferably in Switzerland and/or the Bay Area of the United States. We seek a team player able to navigate between conceptualization and execution, adept at both scaling existing programs and designing new initiatives. The candidate should exhibit a growth mindset, demonstrate entrepreneurial spirit, and feel comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities


Program Management (50%):

  • Develop innovative AI programs tailored to Swiss entities, aiming to deliver 1-2 revenue-generating projects annually (e.g. foresight workshops, trend discovery tours, learning expeditions, etc.)
  • Independently execute program implementation, prioritizing partner satisfaction and meeting deadlines.
  • Provide guidance and support to researchers and innovators visiting Pier17, ensuring meaningful connections are made during their time in SF.
  • Coordinate AI-related activities at Swissnex, including residencies, public events, and tours, collaborating with the operations and program teams to optimize experiences for Swissnex and its partners.
  • Enhance existing cross-audience programs such as impact sabbaticals, science communication camps, storytelling camps, and startup bootcamps.

Stakeholder Management (30%):

  • Create partnerships with local institutions to strengthen Swissnex’s network.
  • Cultivate relationships with stakeholders in Switzerland and the US, articulating Swissnex’s value proposition strategically.
  • Facilitate CEO and Swissnex leadership engagement with high-profile figures in the Swiss/American tech/AI community.

Research and Communication (20%):

  • Author blog posts on AI advancements to enhance Swissnex’s online presence and knowledge dissemination.
  • Establish thought-leadership on AI and innovation targeting the Swiss audience.


Our Ideal Candidate

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Robust project management skills with a proven execution track record.
  • Keen interest in technology and artificial intelligence.
  • Experience in cultivating and managing stakeholder relationships.
  • Proficiency in fundraising or generating income through activities.
  • Holds a Master’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Excellent English language proficiency (written and verbal).
  • Strong networking abilities, preferably in Switzerland or the Bay Area.
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and collaboration.
  • Growth mindset and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to navigate between creative ideation and reliable implementation.
