    Early Childhood Educator – Holistic & Alternative Education

    Location: Goães, Vila Verde, Portugal (on-site, full-time)

    Organization: O Mundo Somos Nós Learning Centre

    O Mundo Somos Nós Learning Centre, dedicated to holistic and transformative education, is seeking a passionate Early Childhood Educator (ages 3–6). We are looking for someone with experience in alternative education settings, ideally familiar with Forest School methodology and Montessori pedagogy.

    Ideal Profile

    • University degree in Early Childhood Education / Pre-school Education (or equivalent).
    • Additional training or specialization in innovative/alternative pedagogies (Montessori, Steiner, Reggio Emilia, Forest School, etc.).
    • Strong knowledge and passion for child-centered learning approaches.
    • Ability to create a prepared environment that fosters autonomy and holistic development.
    • Excellent observation and documentation skills.
    • Creative in adapting materials and activities to children’s individual needs.
    • Strong teamwork skills and ability to collaborate closely with families.
    • Fluent in Portuguese and English (oral and written); other languages are a plus.
    • Highly organized, self-motivated, flexible, and proactive.
    • Passionate about our mission of educating for a new world.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Implement Montessori principles and Project-Based pedagogy in Early Childhood Education.
    • Create and maintain a prepared environment supporting self-directed learning.
    • Facilitate hands-on, discovery-based learning experiences.
    • Observe and document each child’s individual development.
    • Collaborate with the education team on the continuous evolution of our program.
    • Maintain close, constructive communication with families.

    Details

    • Type of Employment: Full-time, on-site (9:00 – 17:00).
    • Contract: Permanent.
    • Salary: €1,200/month.
