Descrição

Abaarso was featured on 60 Minutes and in the New York Times when our students became the first from their country in more than 30 years to matriculate to US universities including Harvard, Yale, MIT, Brown, Columbia, Cornell, and Penn. Our students have thrived in our boarding school environment where teachers provide extracurricular activities like clubs, sports, and advising throughout the week while providing an English-immersion experience. While we are an American-accredited school, many team members have been extremely successful despite arriving with no formal teaching experience.

We are seeking energetic, resilient people who want to help underprivileged students earn life changing opportunities.

Abaarso School is located in Somaliland, an unrecognised country that has enjoyed peaceful transfers of power in democratically elected governments since it declared independence from Somalia in 1991. Abaarso is developing the next generation of Somali leaders, who will help develop their country.

Compensation packages include monthly stipends (tax-free), comfortable housing, three meals a day prepared by cooks, health insurance, work visas, and round-trip airfare.

Abaarso teachers have enjoyed tremendous exit opportunities, including graduate programs at Harvard, Stanford, Columbia, Cambridge, and other top universities, as well as careers in school leadership, the Foreign Service, data science, and more.
