AUCD, a national nonprofit organization supporting the disability community, is seeking a highly motivated, accomplished, organized, and goal-oriented Senior Program Manager to support the MCH Engagement Team.

The Senior Program Manager manages the Interdisciplinary Technical Assistance (TA) Center on Autism and Developmental Disabilities (ITAC) and is responsible for managing technical assistance efforts for Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Other Related Disabilities (LEND) and Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics (DBP) training programs. This project is authorized by the federal Autism Collaboration, Accountability, Research, Education, and Support (CARES) Act. The Senior Manager will work collaboratively to (1) manage the development, delivery, and evaluation of training and TA provided to LEND and DBP programs; (2) ensure quality, efficacy, and continuity of all TA activities provided; and (3) promote health equity, diversity, cultural and linguistic responsiveness, and inclusion within ITAC and within LEND and DBP programs.

Overview of Responsibilities

Technical Assistance

  • Provide project management for the federal cooperative agreement.
  • Identify areas of interest and need for training and professional development for grantees.
  • Oversee training and TA activities including but not limited to planning and implementing national meetings, webinars, individual consultation, site visits, resources, and quality improvement efforts.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with other AUCD, Maternal and Child Health Bureau (MCHB), and national partner efforts.
  • Provide technical assistance on MCHB site visits to LEND and DBP programs.
  • Participates and presents at conferences and other forums.
  • Provide expertise in topics of interest to interdisciplinary training programs, including MCH workforce development, diversity, health equity, and cultural and linguistic responsiveness.
  • Support advisory and other workgroups.
  • Provide programmatic expertise in support of training program performance reporting.

Data Collection, Evaluation, and Reporting

  • Manage data collection and project evaluation activities, including reviewing and monitoring project evaluation data and leading continuous quality improvement.
  • Complete annual Performance Report and Non-Competing Continuation Application (NCC); facilitate the completion and submission of competitive renewal applications.
  • Provide consultation for MCHB's CARES evaluation coordinator.
  • Serve as primary staff contact for responding to MCHB data and information requests.

Budgeting

  • Develop and monitor the annual project budget, in consultation with the Chief Finance Officer and the Director of MCH Engagement.
  • Develop and submit carry forward and supplemental funding requests to funders, as needed.
  • Facilitate development, review and approval of all sub-awardee agreements, invoices for payment, project staff expense reports & timesheets, and grant invoices & expenditures.

Networking and Engagement

  • Serve as primary source of communication with and between MCHB, training programs, and other partners regarding technical assistance, policy, and program development.
  • Represent AUCD on advisory groups, and at meetings and conferences locally and nationally.

Management and Organizational Support:

  • Provide updates to the Board of Directors on project activities, as requested.
  • Represent the interests of grantees in the context of broader AUCD initiatives (e.g. strategic planning, communications, leadership development).
  • Act as back-up for the Director of MCH Engagement on project-related topics as needed.

Position Requirements

Education: Master's degree in a social science, education, administration, public health, policy, or other relevant field (or equivalent experience)

Experience: Eight (8) years of professional experience providing technical assistance and consultation in topics related to public health, disability, advocacy, capacity-building, systems change, and/or program leadership and management in higher education settings. Minimum of three (3) years of managing direct reports and/or project teams.

Supervisory: Directly supervises two (2) full-time program staff.

Other Requirements: Ability to travel, typically 3-4 days at a time, 6 times annually.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Personal or professional experience with individuals with disabilities.
  • Training or work experience in a LEND or DBP program.
  • Experience in providing technical assistance and consultation in topics related to MCH workforce development; maternal and child health; cultural and linguistic responsiveness, diversity and health equity strategies; and/or clinical program management in higher education settings.

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $65,000 to $80,000. This position is funded by a federal cooperative agreement and will be contingent upon continued funding.

This position is 100% remote.
