JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

Marketing Specialist

Bring your stellar Web design skills, creative eye, and attention to detail to The NOAH Center to help us stop the euthanasia of healthy, adoptable, and treatable homeless dogs and cats. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, comfortable with tight deadlines, and thinks strategically. The person in this role works closely with all departments to efficiently and effectively promote via Social Media our family-friendly pet adoptions, humane education, volunteer programs, and high-quality spay and neuter programs.

Purpose

The Marketing Specialist is responsible for providing marketing materials for the organization, including but not limited to all social media, brochures, signs, event materials, mailings, newsletters and advertisements, and the annual report. This position helps with fundraising event planning, procurement, campaign assistance, and overall Development and Marketing Department support.

Education and Experience

Must be 18 years of age

Must meet all the requirements in The NOAH Center's WSP WATCH Background Check Policy

Minimum two-year Associate’s Degree with emphasis in communications, graphic design, marketing, or a related field

Minimum two years graphic design experience

Minimum two years site development experience

One or more years of marketing, sales, or fundraising event experience

FLSA Classification

Non-Exempt, regular, full-time

$26-$30 per hour, DOE

Schedule varies and will include occasional weekend, holiday, and evening work

Position is based in our Stanwood, Washington, office. No remote work is available.

Skills

  • Proficient with Web design
  • Proficient with Adobe Creative Suites software
  • Video editing experience is preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Leadership ability with exemplary interpersonal, verbal, listening, and written communication skills
  • Open, friendly, and comfortable with diverse groups
  • Capable of directing and working effectively with donors, volunteers, and staff in a wide range of activities in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and with a team.
  • Possess superior organizational skills and the ability to prioritize, problem-solve, and multi-task.

Work Environment

  • Ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, carry, and safely lift up to 30 pounds with reasonable accommodation
  • Works in an area with a high noise level
  • Subject to animal dander, bites, and scratches, as well as possible exposure to biological and zoonotic agents

Tasks

  • Maintains the website to ensure all content is current and easy to navigate; updates pictures and videos as needed to keep a fresh look
  • Manages all social media sites to promote organization needs; professionally, courteously, and accurately responds to posts and messages on social media, using exceptional customer service
  • Works with department directors to create promotional materials as needed
  • Develops signage and printed materials for the organization
  • Creates designs, concepts, and sample layouts based on knowledge of layout principles and esthetic design concepts
  • Develops graphics and layouts for product illustrations, company logos, and websites
  • Develop content for email newsletters, campaigns, and promotions
  • Creates graphics for promotional needs (packaging, labels, displays, logos)
  • Works with media and third-party vendors to create quality pictures and promotional videos
  • Creates press releases and distributes appropriately to media outlets
  • Assists in the development of annual appeals and year-end giving programs
  • Assists the development team in fostering positive relationships with donors, volunteers, venue management, and vendors

Development Events

  • Oversees third-party fundraisers and small events, including farmer’s markets, fairs, garage sales, and community events
  • Works with Human Resource Specialist to coordinate a team of event volunteers
  • Assists with procuring various desirable auction items for large fundraising events
  • Attends and provides support as needed to all fundraising events, focusing on design and marketing materials
  • Works with AV vendor(s) to ensure visual content is accurate and presented as intended
