Would you like to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young people and support them in attaining their high school diplomas? We are looking to fill Academic Support Specialist positions in placements such as the Alameda County Office of Education (ACOE). ACOE school programs serve some of the most vulnerable student populations in Alameda County, including students who are pregnant or parenting, expelled students, youth who are on probation, and young people who are detained at juvenile facilities. AmeriCorps volunteers will have the opportunity to provide academic as well as social and emotional support to these historically underserved populations. Serve at one of their alternative education programs, including Butler Academic Center, Camp Wilmont Sweeney Academic Center, Quest Academy, Fruitvale Academy, William P. Burke Academy and Opportunity Academy. Create positive change in students’ lives by helping them obtain their high school diplomas and succeed.
