    TECH CORPS' Development Associate advances the organization's fundraising efforts by managing a portfolio of small foundation and corporate grants and contributing to donor stewardship, prospect identification, and cultivation. In collaboration with colleagues across programs, finance, and leadership, the Development Associate oversees development projects and helps build systems that strengthen development operations, ensuring efficient processes, timely submissions, and meaningful engagement with donors.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional with strong writing and organizational skills who is eager to build a career in nonprofit development. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, able to manage multiple projects and deadlines, and enthusiastic about supporting TECH CORPS’ mission to equip K-12 students with technology skills and experiences that prepare them for the future.

    What will you do as the Development Associate?

    Grants Management

    • Manage a portfolio of foundation and corporate grants.
    • Draft, edit, and submit compelling grant applications, proposals, and follow-up reports in collaboration with the Chief Executive Officer.
    • Ensure compliance with all funder guidelines, requirements, and deadlines through careful calendar and database management.
    • Conduct prospect research and analyze data to identify and assess new grant opportunities.
    • Collaborate with program staff to gather data, outcomes, and stories that strengthen proposals and funder reports.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all grant activity in the donor database.

    Development & Fundraising

    • Support the Chief Executive Officer in implementing TECH CORPS’ annual development plan.
    • Assist with identifying, cultivating, and stewarding relationships with prospective foundation, corporate, and individual donors.
    • Prepare acknowledgment letters, stewardship materials, and briefing documents for donor meetings and presentations.
    • Maintain accurate donor records and generate reports and analyses to inform fundraising strategy.
    • Support the planning and execution of fundraising campaigns and events, ensuring consistent and compelling messaging.
    • Collaborate with Program Managers on regional fundraising initiatives and donor engagement activities.
    • Perform other duties as assigned to advance TECH CORPS’ fundraising goals.

    TECH CORPS is looking for a passionate, creative, and collaborative professional who is committed to the TECH CORPS mission. Top candidates will have:

    Education & Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in communications, English, nonprofit management, public administration, or equivalent experience.
    • 1–3 years of professional experience in fundraising, development, or related nonprofit work.
    • Experience with grant writing, reporting, or donor communications preferred.

    Skills & Competencies

    • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
    • Strong organizational and project management skills; ability to manage multiple deadlines.
    • Attention to detail and accuracy in managing donor and grant records.
    • Ability to synthesize data, outcomes, and stories into compelling proposals and reports.
    • Strong interpersonal skills; able to communicate effectively with donors, staff, and external stakeholders.
