    The McSilver Institute for Poverty Policy and Research at New York University is committed to creating new knowledge about the root causes of poverty, developing evidence-based interventions to address its consequences, and rapidly translating research findings into action through policy and best practices. McSilver has a robust training program on best practices in service delivery programs which provides training and implementation support to behavioral health agencies across New York State.

    We are looking to hire a talented and motivated individual to join our team and serve as a Program Associate to the Institute’s Evaluation Department. Reporting to the Director of Evaluation, the Program Associate supports the Institute’s evaluation, research, and quality improvement initiatives across NYU McSilver’s Technical Assistance Centers (TAC). This role is responsible for assisting with data collection, management, analysis, and reporting.

    Essential Tasks/Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for supporting day-to-day operations of the Evaluation Department
    • Coordinate logistics for internal and external meetings and events, including scheduling, preparing materials, setting up and hosting Zoom meetings
    • Support the design and implementation of program evaluation plans
    • Collect, clean, and manage project data
    • Create and manage completion of web-based Qualtrics surveys
    • Conduct descriptive data analysis and assist with interpretation of findings
    • Develop data visualizations and report templates for internal and external stakeholders
    • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reports for TAC and other evaluation initiatives
    • Assist in preparing presentations and evaluation reports
    • Conduct literature reviews to support various initiatives
    • Coordinate and schedule reporting and evaluation meeting with the team and other stakeholders
    • Attend staff, team-based, cross-departmental meetings and events as required and document meeting minutes and next steps
    • Performs other duties as assigned

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Strong organizational, time management skills, and the ability to handle multiple assignments and perform against deadlines
    • Foundational knowledge of evaluation methods (qualitative and quantitative).
    • Basic proficiency with data analysis software (e.g., Excel, SPSS, Stata, R).
    • Strong writing and verbal communication skills
    • Extreme attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in data collection and reporting
    • A self-starter and able to work independently and in teams
    • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
    • Ability to communicate effectively with staff, stakeholders, and community agencies
    • Interest in working with data and learning about academic evaluation and research

    Qualifications

    • Master’s Degree in health related field and a minimum of 3 years’ of experience working with data
    • Must have strong computer skills and knowledge of common programs such as Microsoft Office and G Suite
    • Experience with survey design and administration
    • Familiarity with data visualization tools
    • Proficiency in Excel and/or Google Sheets
    • Proficiency in Qualtrics
    • Highly organized and strong attention to detail
    • Strong analytical, writing, and verbal communication skills
    • Experience with statistical software packages such as SPSS, STATA, or R
    • Canva experience is a plus

    In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $73,000 – $83,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.

    Please note: NYU McSilver is currently operating on a hybrid schedule of 3-days a week in-person. This is a grant funded position with the opportunity for ongoing renewal reviewed on an annual basis. This position does not qualify for visa sponsorship.
