Infant/Toddler Lead and Assistant Teachers
The Waldorf School of Lexington seeks lead and assistant teachers to join our mixed-age infant/toddler care program. WSL seeks teachers who are invested in providing a high-quality, warm, home-like environment where infants and toddlers can receive personal attention, nurturing, and thoughtful caregiving in keeping with the mission and vision of our school community.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Designing and providing a warm, nurturing physical environment to receive and care for infants and toddlers
- Collaborating with other teachers and school staff to establish and adjust classroom rhythms to support optimal health of the children
- Communicating with parents to create a relationship of mutual trust and collaboration for children’s care
- Understanding and providing for caregiving needs including feeding, changing, safety, free motor movement, and outdoor exploration
Ideal Candidates will possess:
- Background and/or training in RIE and/or Waldorf education
- A Bachelor’s Degree or beyond in early childhood education or a related field
- Experience with and enthusiasm for infants and toddlers
- Willingness to learn, mentor, and be mentored
Required Qualifications include:
- Have a High School Diploma or be at least 21 Years of Age
- Have a suitable Background Records Check
- Complete Staff Orientation at time of hire
- Complete EEC Essentials online asynchronous training course before or at time of hire
