    Catholic Charities of Los Angeles, Inc. is one of the largest human services providers in California. The agency operates a variety of programs to serve the poor and strives to find permanent solutions to crisis situations by offering clients the tools and resources needed to achieve greater self-reliance and stability in their lives.

    We are looking for a Program Director to oversee our Immigration and Refugee Services program. The person in this role will have current experience working in immigration legal services as an attorney or DOJ Accredited Representative, manages all aspects of Catholic Charities’ programs in a region, including program development, financial management, resource development, strategic planning, quality improvement, program operations and assessment.

    Responsibilities:

      • Oversee all affirmative legal services including naturalization, green card, work permits, DACA, adjustment of status, etc.
      • Direct, supervise and train program staff and volunteers.
      • Responsible for fiscal oversight of the program.
      • Act as the primary liaison with key governmental, Agency and community leaders.
      • Plan, organize and conduct approved programs in accordance with official directives and applicable contract provisions and government regulations.
      • Responsible for implementation of programs and maintenance of program records in accordance with approved standards and practices.
      • Implement program policies and procedures to ensure contractual and legal compliance as well as program performance standards.
      • Oversee fundraising and revenue generating activities of the program.
      • Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with other agencies and community groups.
      • Promote continuous quality improvement and service delivery that is aligned with the Agency’s mission.
      • Displays sensitivity to the client population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
      • Perform related duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

      • Current knowledge of immigration law, in particular affirmative immigration processes.
      • Master’s degree in a related field.
      • Five to seven years of related experience including three years in a supervisory position.
      • Direction, evaluation, training and supervision of staff.
      • Design and implement effective programs.
      • Handle public contact and relations effectively.
      • Communicate effectively in written and oral form.
      • Display sensitivity, tact and responsiveness in various situations and needs.
      • Develop and maintain effective working relationships.
      • Use independent judgment and initiative.
      • Maintain high level of confidentiality.
      • Plan short- and long-range goals.
      • Administrative principles and their application.
      • Community social resources and government agencies.
      • Principles of supervision, training and performance evaluation.
      • Fundraising techniques.
      • Applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
      • Appropriate handbooks and reference materials.
      • Budget preparation and management.
