The position reports to the Director of Operations and is responsible for analyzing and preparing financial information and reports, balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports. Perform full-service accounting duties including bank account reconciliations, processing of cash receipts and cash disbursements, audit schedules, construction accounting, and deferred interest calculations. Also, provide backup for payroll duties as needed.
Objectives and Responsibilities:
- Maintains books of accounts of Holos Communities and development properties
- Track/log construction and loan retentions
- Prepare settlement statements, reserves, interest payment/accrual entries
- Monitor monthly and quarterly property management financials and provide feedback and direction to asset management department.
- Oversee the monthly close procedures, including reconciliation of multiple general ledger accounts, maintain, and track month end close deadlines to ensure close is completed in a timely manner.
- Review and analyze monthly financial results and interact with Holos Communities’ various departments to document and resolve variances. Present on financials quarterly to Board of Directors
- Oversee and maintain lender and grantor reporting requirements and payments for parent company, according to loan and grant documents.
- Implement process improvements and accounting policies and procedures, increasing efficiencies for the department.
- Oversee maintenance of accounting software efficiencies and general applications, as well as provide internal support to the department.
- Lead audit preparation
- Assist Director of Operations, lead other team members, and collaborate with external departments with annual budget process.
Requirements:
- Passion for and support of Holos’ mission and core values
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a closely related field
- At least 5-7 years of proven experience as accountant or supervisory position.
- Familiarity with nonprofit accounting desirable
- Strong organizational, problem solving and analytical skills; ability to manage priorities and workflow
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and proficiency in QuickBooks accounting software
- Must be comfortable meeting tight deadlines
- Demonstrate a high level of professionalism and integrity in dealing with confidential issues; ability to work all accounting systems and recommend more efficient and economical solutions
- Proof of ability to work in the United States.
- Must have and maintain a valid California driver's license and auto insurance at all times and have the availability of an insured vehicle to travel within the Company’s service area.
Salary and Benefits:
- $90,000-110,000 annual salary, DOE
- Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance per the company plan at no cost to you
- 12 Days Sick time per year (prorated for partial years) per the Employee Handbook
- The ability to accrue 10 days paid vacation per year, in accordance with the employee handbook
- The ability to participate in the organization’s 403b retirement plan and receive an employer match of your contributions up to 4% of your annual salary

Work Environment:
This position is based in our North Hollywood office four-five days per week. Occasional remote work is permitted, but we value being together in person because our team collaboration is one of Holos’ greatest strengths.
