The Entertainment Community Fund (formerly The Actors Fund) is a national human services organization that helps all professionals in performing arts and entertainment. The Entertainment Community Fund clients are a diverse, dynamic, and engaging group of working professionals and include musicians, actors, stage managers, set designers, hair and make-up stylists, costume designers, filmmakers, and radio hosts, to name a few. The agency offers a unique Entertainment Assistance Program that provides client-centered clinical case management, supportive counseling, groups, and financial assistance to adult performing arts and entertainment professionals. We seek a clinically oriented social worker to join this innovative program.

This is currently a hybrid position with a requirement of working 2 days per week in the Los Angeles office. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

The EAP social worker will engage with a wide variety of individuals, couples, and families in a clinical process that facilitates the development of assessments and treatment plans. This includes clinical case management, evaluating and advocating for financial assistance, as well as serving as a liaison to additional resources. The social worker will help the client access public and community resources and facilitate connections to health insurance, public benefits, and community organizations. 

The social worker will play a crucial role in providing short-term supportive counseling, mental health assessments, referrals, and crisis intervention to individuals, couples, and their families in the performing arts and entertainment community. They will also facilitate clinical, psychoeducational, affinity, and support groups, as well as develop seminars and training that directly address the unique needs of this community. 

You will have the opportunity to collaborate with other programs of the Entertainment Community Fund, labor unions, industry management, and community organizations to facilitate treatment plans and services. Additionally, you will identify and develop relationships with community and mental health resources and provide outreach to the community to promote services. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Master’s Degree from an accredited School of Social Work. 

• Strong assessment, intensive clinical case management, and advocacy skills. Crisis intervention skills and the ability to engage in a wide range of presentations are a must.

• Organized and able to handle diverse tasks in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Effective time management and the ability to create an organizational system is required.

• Ability to adapt to a changing environment and handle multiple priorities. 

• Consistently convey a sense of empathy with clients and demonstrate solid clinical acumen. Value and be willing to use the individual and group clinical supervision process to reflect, observe, and enhance clinical practice. 

• Worker will adhere to and comply with the licensing code of ethics.

• Experience creating and facilitating support, psychoeducation, and affinity groups.

• A commitment to cultural humility in social work practice. 

• Availability to assist in agency-wide outreach to the entertainment community to provide information about the Entertainment Community Fund.

• Available to conduct groups, seminars, or trainings during the evenings as needed. 

• Proficient in software applications, e.g., Windows, Excel, Zoom, Salesforce, Microsoft Office 

PREFERRED QUALITIES

• State licensure optional or working toward licensure hours.

• Experience working within a crisis intervention as well as a brief treatment model. 

• Experience with the entertainment community is helpful. 

• Bilingual: Spanish/English

ABOUT THIS POSITION

This is a full-time salaried position based in the Entertainment Community Fund’s Western Region offices in Mid-Wilshire, Los Angeles. The Entertainment Community Fund offers a competitive salary as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including a choice of multiple health plans, dental plans, voluntary vision, flex, and dependent care plans, employer-paid life and long-term disability insurance, supplemental life and disability, 401(k) plan with generous employer match, tuition reimbursement, generous paid time off and Wage Works commuter benefit or paid parking, depending on location.  

COMPENSATION

Compensation is commensurate with licensure type and years of experience. The salary range for candidates who hold an MSW is between $65,000 - $69,165. The salary range for candidates who hold an LCSW is between $72,468 - $74,165. Internships, volunteer work, and gaps in employment will not be counted towards years of experience.
