POSITION DESCRIPTION 

The Systems Administrator provides maintenance to the Color Of Change technology infrastructure and customer support for user requests. The candidate will report to the Director of IT/InfoSec and will have the ability to manage multiple tasks/projects concurrently with steady progress toward timely completion. The candidate will also have a strong commitment to the success of their assigned projects, the team, and the company - doing so with a strong work ethic, a highly motivated self-starter, and a positive attitude. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This position is required to travel between the DC and NY offices as needed but is allowed to work remotely when applicable.
  • Respond to user requests for service, troubleshoot problems, and resolve to the end user's satisfaction in an office and remote environment.
  • Support Mac hardware components, desktop operating system software, and application software; manage and oversee MDM policies of our SaaS accounts and users at an administrative level.
  • Coordinate with vendors to identify, monitor, test, & report system issues. 
  • Help create IT support documents to improve processes & procedures for the IT & Information Security team.  
  • Perform System administrative tasks with Okta, Google Admin, Jamf, Meraki, BetterCloud, Bitdefender, Slack, Zendesk, and other Software as a Service (SaaS) environments. 
  • Assist in the deployment, configuration, cable management, patch management, and testing of new workstations, peripheral equipment, and software.
  • Manage cloud infrastructure (AWS) to ensure engineers have a secure and maintained environment in which to run production services. 
  • Continuously improve the operations through enhanced data-gathering, monitoring of cloud environments, & automated monthly security patching strategy.
  • Assist with inventory management, equipment health checks, reimaging hardware, and recycling old hardware.
  • Assist with all technical operations, reporting, and auditing of our current processes and procedures. 
  • Lead onboarding & offboarding of employees, as well as coordinating with other departments to improve our security posture and overall employee experience. 
  • Be a team player and collaborate with your peers to troubleshoot issues.
  • Shipping and receiving laptops and peripherals as needed.
  • Other duties as may be assigned. 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of IT Systems Administration and Support experience in a corporate environment
  • Strong customer service experience and ability to provide top-quality service to the executive team
  • A customer-service orientation. You’ll need to support our staff‘s ability to perform at the highest possible level. A successful candidate will be responsive but also proactive, addressing needs that staff, donors, and vendors may not even be aware of. 
  • You’re able to work calmly and intentionally under pressure.
  • The candidate should be flexible, adaptable, and able to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Must possess strong technical capabilities with the ability to learn and apply new skills quickly, efficiently, and with great attention to detail
  • Good language skills, including writing, editing, and verbal communication.
  • Good analytical and research skills
  • Ability to work autonomously in a very fast-paced environment
  • Experience with computer hardware and networking, A+, or CompTIA, Network +, Security +, preferred but not mandatory depending on experience level
  • Strong technical knowledge of MAC hardware, OS, AV, and Microsoft Office applications
  • Technical knowledge of current networking protocols
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Cloud Administration (AWS) and Telephony / VoIP experience a bonus

COMPENSATION

The salary range for the Systems Administrator position is $72,000- $75,600. Color Of Change also offers a competitive benefits package. This is a full-time, non-exempt position.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Working at Color Of Change (COC), you should be prepared to work remotely and/or in the assigned office location when hired. This position requires working core hours, Monday - Friday, on a laptop for most of the work day and additional time as required by job duties. We are not offering U.S. visa sponsorship for this role.
